Teachers have expressed their concern over children whose ditching class in the Southern Somali town Kismayu to join rebels to overthrow a weak government.
Many of these children are lured on by money because of unemployment and the lack of employment opportunities.
A Kismayu primary school teacher said “they proudly carry their guns around while the classrooms are empty. Islamist commanders woo the children whether in public gatherings or in the mosques.
