A suspect arrested in the murder of Superintendent

A 18 year-old suspect has been arrested in connection with murder of superintendent Mpumelelo Xakekile.
 
Xakekile was gunned down on Wednesday evening in Mew way,Khayelitsha.
 
Provincial Police Commissioner Lieutenant General Arno Lamoer says detectives from Khayelitsha worked around the clock and followed up several leads before arresting two suspects.
 
Lamoer says one man was released after questioning but an 18-year-old suspect was arrested.
 
Police Spokesperson Captain FC Van Wyk said the suspect was arrested on Friday.
Van Wyk said the suspect will appear in the Khayelitsha Magistrate court today, on charge of murder.
 
He added that the police are still looking for a second suspect.
