The Police and Prisons Civil Rights Union say, they are concerned by the recent killings of a number of members of the South African Police Service.

This comes after in less than a week about three officers were killed in Cape Town.

A Superintendent was shot dead in Khayelitsha and two officers were shot in Hout Bay on Friday.

Popcru Spokesperson Theto Mahlakoana said it cannot become the norm to bury police officers on a weekly basis.

Mahlakoana said police killers need to be sent to prison, where they belong.
