The Chamber of Commerce and Industry has slammed municipal workers for their looming strike.

CCI President Michael Bagraim said they feel that the strike is unnecessary, as there has been a settlement in the industry already.

The South African Municipal Workers Union has begun consulting its members to determine if they wanted a strike.

Bagraim also said that the current waves of strikes are a threat to the South African economy.

He added that the CCI strongly believes that these strikes are making the country ungovernable.
