Gary Stewart the truck driver who was hit by a stone in the head during the truck drivers strike will be laid to rest today.

Stewart suffered a fractured skull when the truck he was travelling in was hit during a stone throwing incident.

His life support was switched off earlier this week.

On Friday the strike came to an end after all unions signed the wage deal.

The truck driver’s strike went on for three-weeks resulting in food prices increasing.

A private funeral will be held for Gary Stewart in Cape Town.
