A shack fire leaves one person died

An adult male died in a shack fire in Cape Town which also left 150 shacks destroyed.

The incident happened at midnight in Robinvale, Atlantis.

Disaster Risk Management’s Wilfred Solomon Johannes said emergency services arrived after the occupant had put out the fire.

Johannes added that the adult male sustained serve burn wounds and subsequently died as a result.

The City of Cape Town will be providing food parcels, clothing, and blankets and building materials to those affected.
