President Jacob Zuma has called upon businesses, labour and community organisations to help improve investor confidence in the economy.

Zuma was speaking at a stakeholder meeting in Johannesburg.

In attendance at the meeting included the Congress of South African Trade Union, the Black Business Council and Business Unity South Africa.

An agreement at the meeting was reached that the constituents will take steps to improve public and investor confidence in the economy and to promote social stability.

Cosatu has welcomed government's decision to involve non-state actors in seeking solutions to address current socio-economic challenges.
