Three weeks after the schools re-opened in the Western Cape for the academic year 2013, there are still children who are not attending school in some areas in the province.

Education Ministry Spokesperson Bronagh Casey said they are aware of the circumstances surrounding unregistered students and some parents saying schools are full, in Wallacedene.

Casey said the department has continuously appealed to parents to enrol their children to schools through various campaigns and channels in the area.

She further said there are officials that are investigating these reports of children that are not attending school, also maintained the department can not force the children to go to school.
