Western Cape Metrorail Regional Manager Mthuthuzeli Swartz today said people need to understand that they cannot with impunity destroy assets that are owned by the state and that are designed for a specific intention which is to perform a specific task as outlaid by the law.

This is after a charge of sabotage was laid after security guards belonging to Chippa securities destroyed train signals on Monday causing major delays.

Swartz said these people need to then seal the full might of the law.

He added that hopefully the justice system will ensure that these criminals are brought to book.
