Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the shooting of a taxi
driver in Elsies River on Tuesday.
The taxi was
attacked by four men in the evening.
It is alleged the
four suspects shot the taxi driver and ran on foot before they were being
arrested by police a few minutes later.
Police Spokesperson
FC Van Wyk said the four men will appear in court once they have been formally
charged. And the motive for the killing is unknown at this stage.
In a separate
incident another taxi driver was attacked by eight men near Parow train station
who smashed and stabbed the tyres of the vehicle.
The men then fled
the scene. The incident happened when the taxi driver was loading passengers on
Tuesday evening.
Police Spokesperson
FC Van Wyk said the police are investigating the incident.
Van Wyk further
urged anyone with information which may lead to the arrest of the suspects to
come forward or contact crime stop on 08000 10 111.
