Premier welcomes arrest of two people who assaulted non-striking mine worker

North West Premier Thandi Modise has welcomed the arrest of two people who assaulted a non-striking mine worker.

Premier Modise said the arrest of the pair should send a strong message to those behind the atrocious and barbaric acts of violence, bullying and intimidation of non-striking workers. 

Modise Spokesperson Lesiba Kgwele said bullying and intimidation of non-striking mine workers associated with the AMCU strike will all end up behind bars.

In appealing to striking mine workers to respect the rights of non striking workers public and private properties.

“Premier Modise says the denial of bail for these sentences of the accused will be determined Modise added.
