The first results of the fifth general election keep coming provincial and nationally.

The Independent Electoral Commission says although most of the votes have not been counted yet but they are happy with the results so far.

Leaders of different parties are anxiously waiting at different IEC stations waiting for the release of the finally results.

Bush Radio’s reporter Natalie Malgas said so far in the Western Cape the Democratic Alliance is leading but the counting continues.

Natalie Malgas said the IEC results centre is buzzing with many party representatives coming in and out. At this moment all the results have been counted but we await data capturing to be complete before seeing any final results.

Natalie Malgas said taking a look at results that have come in for the Western Cape already bearing in mind these results don’t reflect the numbers don’t reflect the numbers coming in from the metro as those have not been captured yet.

“The DA has 58.24% the ANC at 32.78% and the self proclaimed new kids on the block EFF 2.07% at this moment Malgas added.

Meanwhile the Economic Freedom Fighters in the Western Cape has complained that the elections in the province were not free and fair.

EFF`s Nazir Paulsen said they have lodged a complaint with the Independent Electoral Commission.

Paulsen said in some voting stations nothing was free and fair as promised by the IEC.

Paulsen said we have lodged a complaint with the IEC yet the IEC Western Cape releases a statement saying that there have been no irregularities.

Paulsen said we feel that our experiences does not reflect well and does not reflect on the position presented by the IEC that this election has been a free and fair election.

“We believe that in order to gain confidence of voters the IEC should be transparent Paulsen added.
