IPID investigates Delft murder

The Independent Police Investigative Directorate is investigating a 36-year-old police officer after he shot dead his girlfriend in Delft. IPID Acting Spokesperson Grace Lange said the officer and his girlfriend were in court over a domestic violence case. 

The police officer had received a court interdict on July 3rd.

Lange added the suspect followed the deceased home after court before he fired 15 shots on her. The victim died in front of her house in Delft.

The suspect is a police officer at the Belville Railways. The motive for the murder is being investigated and he is expected to appear in court on Monday.
