City of Cape Town’s Mayoral Committee Member for Safety and Security JP Smith said through the City’s Metro Police and Law Enforcement keeping the pressure on drugs and gangs has resulted in great success over the weekend.

Smith said over the weekend they managed to close down a drug lab in Sybrand Park.

Police found over 20 000 units of drugs and three people were arrested.

In another flat police also found five containers of drugs, dagga and tik.

Smith said the number of arrest in this year alone has risen to 500 and the confiscation of guns has gone to 17.
