The National Prosecuting Authority says the arrest of yet another alleged drug smuggler at Cape Town International Airport has dealt a further blow to the narcotics trade.

Johannesburg resident Melody Sibanda was allegedly caught with tik worth nearly R2 million in her possession at the weekend.

Sibanda, who was arrested during a random search, appeared in the Bellville Magistrates Court yesterday.

Authorities say the 27-year-old had hidden the drugs in boxes of Kellogg’s Cornflakes packed in her luggage.

The matter has been postponed to next Monday for a formal bail application.
