The NFP has been excluded from this year’s polls after failing to meet an Independent Electoral Committee deadline for the payment of its deposit.
The National Freedom Party says an Electoral Court decision to dismiss its bid to participate in the municipal elections will see the livelihoods of hundreds of people affected.
The party had approached the court claiming it had new evidence to support its bid to have the IEC bend its electoral timetable.
Party leaders say while they are disappointed by the ruling, they will accept the court’s decision and start preparing for the next election.
However the NFP will no longer be able to participate in the polls, many of its members face a loss of employment.
