The Department of Home Affairs has set up a hotline to assist matriculants who still need their Identity Documents before exams start.

Minister of Home Affairs Malusi Gigaba said the hotline is to specifically help matric’s and to make sure that they receive their ID’s on time.

Gigaba said one is to assist them in verifying the status of their application for their identity cards but secondly to ensure that if they had not received their cards back we can fast track the process.

Meanwhile the matriculants will be writing their National Senior Certificate examinations next week.

Minister Gigaba said the hotline is to release some of the pressure and stress the learners have by making sure they have what they need to write their exams.

Gigaba said the department wishes the matric’s all the best for the exams and urges them to focus on the task at hand and that is to succeed.
