Western Cape MEC of Education Debbie Schafer has called on transport providers to help in ensuring that candidates get to their exam centres on time.

Matriculants on Monday started writing their final National Senior Certificate exams.

MEC Schafer said the department is committed to working closely with partners to provide the necessary support and ensure that no scholar is prejudiced.

Ministerial Spokesperson Jessica Shelver said candidates need to ensure that they arrive at writing centres on time and if they arrive an hour later they will not be allowed to write that paper.
