Two people arrested for being in possession of abalone and drugs

Western Cape Traffic Authorities on Tuesday evening arrested a 45-year-old man on the N2 outside Garbouw.

Provincial Traffic Chief Kenny Africa said the man was found to be in possession of abalone to the street value of R910 500.  

Africa said some 14 bags of 1 821 pieces of abalone were found in his possession.

In another incident also on Tuesday on the N1 just outside Worcester a passenger bus was stopped and searched. 

Upon the search drug khat was found in the bus resulting in the driver of the bus being arrested.
