Two Pakistan nationals arrested for possession of abalone

Two suspects aged 31 and 40-years-old are appearing in the Kimberly Magistrate Court today after they were found in possession of abalone and transportation of abalone.

The abalone has been estimated at a street value of R76 000.

The two Pakistani men were pulled over on the R31 and three bags filled with abalone weighing 76 kg were discovered loaded in the back of the bakkie they were traveling in. 

Lieutenant Olebogeng Tawana said Kimberly police arrested two Pakistan nationals between the age of 31 and 40. They were arrested for being in possession of an illegal abalone and transportation of abalone.
