A train that caught alight late last night between Soetendaal and Hebron stations in Wellington left thirteen people injured after they jumped out of the moving train.

An investigation into why the train caught alight is underway.

Western Cape Emergency Services Spokesperson Robert Daniels said people on board panicked and they jumped off the motor coach.

“This morning there will be a board of inquiry to establish what happened and then this morning as well, there is a bus service between Wellington and Worcester until they can replace the train Daniels added.
