Premier Zille and MEC Winde to launch WiFi hotspots

The Western Cape Premier Helen Zille together with MEC of Economic Opportunities Alan Winde will be launching WiFi hotspots as part of government’s R1.3 billion broadband rollout plans.

MEC Winde said the provincial government’s goal is that every resident in the province will have access to affordable internet. 

Ministerial Spokesperson Bronwynne Jooste said it will connect thousands of residence in that area to affordable public internet and it’s the first of three WiFi hotspots launches plans for the week, on Wednesday the Premier and MEC will be in Atlantis and the last one takes place in Robertson.

“We believe that this will really connect our residence to affordable internet which means they can have access to employment and education opportunities.

We are looking forward to see the real benefits of this connectivity in terms of growth and job creation for residence in these areas.” Jooste added.
