Two teenage girls rescued off a boat in Simonstown

The National Sea Rescue Institute in Simonstown rescued two teenagers who were part of the 2014 Lipton Cup Challenge representing the Knysna sailing team. 

The NSRI also had to rescue six boys who were on board the Bishop Diocesan College yacht. 

All six boys were not injured however the two girls had to be transported to hospital for further care. 

NSRI Spokesperson Craig Lambinon said one girl a 17-year-old injured her leg and the other girl a 16-year-old suffered from hypothermia.

Lambinon said both girls have since been released from hospital and they are continuing with the Lipton Challenge.
