Death toll in Alberton building collapse rises to nine

ER24 paramedics have confirmed that the final death toll in the collapse of a building in Alberton yesterday afternoon stands at nine and nineteen people were injured. 

The building collpased while about twenty-four men were working on the construction of the building.

ER24 Spokesperson Luyanda Majija said emergency teams had recovered all survivors and were now exhuming the bodies of the deceased in between the rubble.

“According to paramedics on scene, the scene is very quiet with no response coming from inside the collapsed structure as paramedics call out to possible survivors Majija added.
