Safety of initiate’s top of the agenda at a meeting of initiation forums

26 representatives from initiation forums
across the Western Cape
Western Cape MEC of Cultural Affairs and
Sports Dr Nomafrench Mbombo said it is important for the department to promote
safe initiation through initiation protocol and guidelines.
Ministerial Spokesperson Siviwe Gwarube
said the focus is mainly on initiation safety, protecting the culture and
enhancing mutual respect.
“These meeting were organised by the
Department of Cultural Affairs and Sports in order for us to enhance our
relationship with initiation forums Gwarube added.
