The Congress of South African Trade Union in the North West has raised its concern regarding the delay in the payment of workers by Aurora.

The workers about 1 700 were allegedly exploited by Aurora directors during the time when they were still controlling the mine.

The matter was taken to court whereby the directors were ordered to pay the workers what is due to them.

Cosatu Provincial Secretary Solly Phetoe said the new company has been making promises to employ workers for some times.

Phetoe said they are still doing care and maintenances with less than fifty people out off over 1700 workers who lost their jobs due to exploitation by the Aurora directors.

“We call on the DOL, DMR and the Master of the High Court, with the joint liquidators to understand the feelings of those workers who have not been working for many years, who died due to stress and workers whose children are expelled from schools and universities due to non-payment Phetoe added.
