Three suspects arrested for being in possession of illegal cigarettes

Three male suspects aged between 27 and 45-years-old were arrested in Mfuleni this week for being in possession of illegal cigarettes. 

The police were alerted by the Tobacco Institute of Southern Africa about possible illegal activity at a warehouse in Kuilsriver. 

The three suspects will be appearing in court soon on charges of being in possession of illegal cigarettes.

Captain FC van Wyk said the police members found three men off-loading cigarettes from a truck to a bakkie, there were approximately 10 thousands boxes of cigarettes. The street value of these cigarettes is estimated at R 1.6 million.
