Two arrested for the murder of an elderly woman

Three suspects aged 24 and 29-years-old were arrested earlier this week for murdering an 83-year-old woman in Sereni Village.

Police Spokesperson Brigadier Hangwani Mulaudzi said the elderly woman was brutally attacked at the weekend and died in hospital after she succumbed to her serve injuries.

It is understood, the suspects have been charged with murder, rape and robbery.

Brigadier Mulaudzi has confirmed the suspects were apprehended after a man-hunt was lodged.

“After a successful man-hunt the third suspect was arrested in connection with this case. The suspects are still in custody ahead of their court appearance on August, 22” he added.

A police investigation is still underway.
