MEC Winde while launching the fund at the Elsenburg on Wednesday said this fund is looking at new possibilities of economic involvement for more residents and to grow smaller industries.

Ministerial Spokesperson Bronwynne Jooste said the alternative crops fund will boost research for the smaller crops in the province these are crop berries, fynbos, honeybush and pomegranates who do not have access to large fund levies.
“We hope it will boost small farmers as well and also bolster land reform in the Western Cape” Jooste added.
