One killed, nine injured in North West accident

Paramedics said one person was killed and nine injured when a bakkie overturned in Ventersdorp.

ER24 spokesperson Werner Vermaak said it is understood that majority of the people were sitting on the back of the vehicle when it overturned.

ER 24 Spokesperson Werner Vermaak said ER24 paramedics arrived on the scene and found the occupants of the vehicle scattered around the vehicle.

Vermaak said one person was found with fatal injuries. There was nothing that paramedics could do for him and he was declared dead on the scene.

Vermaak said the other nine people sustained fractures and cuts. They were taken to Leratong Hospital after being stabilised by paramedics.

“The cause of the accident was not known Vermaak added.
