City of Cape Town awards struggle stalwart Ahmed Kathrada

The City of Cape Town awarded struggle stalwart Ahmed Kathrada, Freedom of the City yesterday.

City of Cape Town Mayor, Patricia de Lille says, it is an honour and privilege to bestow upon Kathrada the Freedom of City of Cape Town, on behalf of a grateful people and a humble society.

“The most powerful legacies don’t live in the things we can see or touch. They live in the way people think or understand. This is Uncle Kathy’s legacy to us.” De Lille said.
