20 people were injured on Tuesday on the N3 close to Berea offramp in Durban.

ER24 Chitra Bodasing paramedic spokesperson  explained that ER24 paramedics and other services, including Fire and Rescue Services, arrived on the scene and found one taxi on its side.

The taxi driver had lost control of the vehicle resulting in it sliding several metres on the road.

A second taxi and four cars were found about 100 metres away.

Paramedics assessed the patients and they were found to have sustained minor to moderate injuries.

They were treated and transported to various hospitals for further medical care.

Meanwhile, a woman has been left injured after she lost control of her vehicle on General Hertzog Street, Dan Pienaar in Bloemfontein this morning

Chitra Bodasing reported that ER24 paramedics and other services arrived on the scene and found the Polo pinned against a tree.

The woman believed to be 21 years old was trapped in the vehicle.

“Fire and Rescue Services extricated her from the vehicle with the use of the jaws-of-life and other rescue tools.” Bodasing said.

Paramedics assessed the woman and found that she sustained multiple injuries.

She was treated and transported to Mediclinic Bloemfontein for further medical care.

The reasons behind both incidents are unknown, but local authorities were on scene for further investigations, Bodasing concluded.
