The City of Cape Town will
support the annual DSTV Mitchells Plain Festival which will celebrate its
seventh anniversary.
The annual festival is a firm
favourite on the City’s events calendar and is billed as the biggest event of
its kind on the Cape Flats, attracting more than 35 000 people.
The First Mitchells Plain
festival was held in 2009 to celebrate the 35th anniversary of the community,
with an estimated population of 700 thousand residents.
“A number of people will be participating.
Round about people from 36 000 people from Cape Town and even outside who we
are expecting.” Mayoral Committee Member for Tourism, Events and Economic
Development Councillor Gareth Bloor said.
