Western Cape MEC of Local Government, Environmental Affairs and Development Planning Anton Bredell says the Western Cape Government is monitoring the water problem throughout the province.

Bredell said that the water system would be under pressure in December due to tourists visiting the province. However, the MEC assures the public that there isn’t a water crisis.

“We are preparing and considering every scenario and we are at this stage not by any means in a disaster situation at all but we want to call on the public to assist us. Use water sparingly and wisely and by so doing we can just take down the pressure in the water system and get through this season together.” MEC spokesperson James-Brent Styan said.
