The events at the Marikana in
August 2012 left a scar on South Africa that will take a decade to heal, the
tragic loss of life was borne by devastated families.
Most of whom lost their sole breadwinners
and caregivers, three years later they are still seeking justice,
accountability and compensation from the ANC.
The Democratic Alliance has
therefore launched a petition to be tabled before parliament when it reconvenes
next year.
Spokesperson
to the DA leader Mabine Seabe added that “The
DA has established a compensation fund for the victims of the 2012 Marikana
massacre and believe as the DA that some sort of justice should be served.”
