Rhodes University withholds results of students owing 50% of fees

Rhodes University in Grahamstown has released a circular stating that it will withhold the June results of students who owe 50% or more of fees.
Speaking to the media student representative council president Gift Sandi says the university’s decision has shocked the student body.
Rhodes previously had a minimum initial payment which stated that students pay 50% of their fees upfront.
This payment was removed after the nationwide #FeesMustFall campaign to make way for a 10% registration fee.

Sandi says while the SRC understands the situation the institution finds itself in, it does not agree with the circular being released a day prior to the day results were meant to be released.
