The Western Cape National Sea Rescue Institute is searching for a fisherman who went missing on Thursday after being swept off rocks by a wave into the sea.

The incident happened 10 kilometers at Thembalethu near George.

NSRI Spokesperson Craig Lambinon said no sign of the man has been found and he is presumed to have drowned.

Lambinon added that his age is in early 50’s from Thembalethu.

The Police and dive unit will continue with their search.

“We are continuing urge people to exercise caution during the spring tide. Which happens at Full Moon and at New Moon bringing a high tide that is higher that normal and low tide that is lower than normal” Lambinon said.
