On Friday evening, passengers
jumped out of a train at Ennerdale Station in Johannesburg.
It’s believed that 120 people
were injured in the incident.
“When paramedics arrived they
found that the rain did not crash or derail at all. Reports indicate that for
reasons still to be investigated, the brakes seem to have locked causing people
to fall. In the panic, it appears some of the commuters jumped from the moving
train.” Netcare 911 spokesperson Chris Botha said in a statement.
Botha added they passengers
had serious to minor injuries. They were treated by various paramedics and
taken to hospitals
