R1.9 million worth drugs confiscated, two arrested in Gugulethu

Two people have been arrested in Gugulethu this morning after police received a tip off of drugs hidden in a vehicle.

Police discovered that a large amount of drugs with an estimated street value of R1.9 million, were in the backseat of a vehicle.

“Mandrax, cocaine and rocks with an estimated street value of R1.9 million were confiscated. Two suspects, [a] female, 50 year-old and a 67-year-old man were arrested and will appear at Athlone Magistrates’ Court on charges of possession of drugs.” Constable Noloyiso Rwexana said.
