The Congress Of the People has welcomed the resignation of John Block from his positions as ANC leader of the Northern Cape as well as from his post of MEC for Finance in that province.

This resignation comes after Block was convicted of corruption.

Cope spokeperson Dennis Bloem explained that the Congress Of the People has continuously and loudly denounced corruption as South Africa’s number one enemy.

“We have no sympathy for the corrupt anywhere in the business or the government. We will not tolerate any corruption within our own party as well.”  Bloem said.

Cope is now waiting for President Jacob Zuma to announce his resignation considering how very untenable his position is Bloem concluded.
