COSATU supports nationwide student protests against fee increases

With the recent protests taking place at Universities across the country due to fee increases.

The congress of South African trade unions says they support the nationwide student’s protests.

COSATU’s National spokesperson Sizwe Pamla said the fee increases are excessive an unaffordable in the current economic climate.

Pamla explained that South Africa has a crisis of unemployment and that the majority of workers earn less than R5000 a month.


“Education is already unaffordable and the inflation increase will exacerbate an already bad situation.” Pamla said
