In a statement issued today,
the City of Cape Town says, a twelve-hour City-led integrated enforcement
operation in Milnerton on Friday saw 30 suspects arrested for various offences,
including nine of possession of drugs, seven for traffic related offences and
four for outstanding warrants.
Mayoral Committee Member for
Safety and Security, JP Smith says, officers also issued 262 traffic fines,
recorded 1819 speeding offences.
Smith says the highlight of
the weekend was the focus operation by our specialist investigations unit
together with the South African Police.
“They went out looking for
five high flyers for drug related offences who had warrants of arrests against
them and managed to find all five, one imprisoned in the Eastern Cape, and four
others they were successfully able to locate.” He added.
