Western Cape MEC of Community Safety Dan Plato has called on police to release identikits of murder and robbery suspects to the public.

This as a police officer was shot dead in Nyanga and a security officer was killed in Somerset West shopping centre on Sunday.  MEC Plato said the release of the identikits will help the police in apprehending these suspects.

Ministerial Spokesperson Ewald Botha said by releasing the identikits the public can assist the police in apprehending these suspects.

In a statement MEC Plato said “these are not just robberies gone bad but the brazen nature of the attacks have spiralled them into attacks on the very systems meant to keep citizens safe”.
