Western Cape Department of Education said it is providing support to Grade 12 learners in the province as the final exams are coming up.

The WCED has organized Spring Schools across the country for Grade 12 learners. MEC of Education Debbie Schafer said in a statement that the provincial government is aiming that as many learners as possible pass the National Senior Certificate.

Ministerial Spokesperson Jessica Shelver said the WCED has a number of spring holiday programmes for the grade 12 learners and will be running workshops across the province for our educators.

Shelver added that with only 17 days to go, our matriculants need all the support they can get, specifically in subjects that they are struggling in.

“This week, Grade 12 learners should receive their results from the September mock exams. Candidates will be able to identify their own individual weaknesses and where they are performing.

The holidays will then allow them the opportunity to focus on the subject areas that are weak and to brush up on areas that they know they can perform better in.” Shelver added.
