Ikageng police arrest five suspects

Police in Ikageng in the past week arrested five suspects in Promosa Township near Portchefstroom for various offences including dealing in drugs.

In one incident police received a tip-off about a lady who was selling drugs to the community.

Police then proceeded to the house whereby they found 20 year-old Madeline Barends.

Captain Pelomoni Makau said that during the search police found mandrax tablets in a drawer at the house, the accused appeared before the Potchefstroom Magistrates Court for possession of illegal substances.

“In another incident in Promosa, police arrested two suspects Jan Booysen and Elton Fortuin in dealing in illegal substances” Makau added.
