Diep River Police are seeking the assistant of the public in tracing three men who armed robbed a Pick n Pick store in Plumstead for R250 000 on Thursday.

Police Spokesperson Keith Chandler said three armed coloured males all wearing balaclavas, rushed straight to the assistant pay clerk who was busy with the wages.

The men then put a gun against the victims head and demanded all the money in the store.

Chandler said that the robbers then took the box containing approximately R250 000 and a cell phone from the desk. The robbers fled the scene in a silver vehicle with no registration plates valid at the time.

“But police then later found that the rear wind screen had been tapped up with red tape,” added chandler.

He also said that less than 45 minutes later together with SAPS Diep River and the neighbourhood watch they found the vehicle about four blocks away.

Chandler also said that the perpetrators had already escaped in another vehicle and no cash was found, nobody was injured and no shots were fired.
