ER24 Paramedics were this morning called out to a scene in Pretoria whereby a man was found lying in a storm water drain.

It is believed that the man had an argument with another person, which resulted in the man allegedly being flung from the Pretoria Street Bridge to the below storm water drain, approximately five metres below.

ER24’s Vanessa Jackson said that they were called around 7am and it is believed that security guards found the patient.

“He was laying on the ground alert yet in a lot of pain as he had broken his leg and suffered multiple scrapes and abrasions and was therefore unable to move,” said Jackson.

Jackson said that they then called in the special rescue unit and they assisted in bringing the patient to the top where he was placed in an ambulance further attended to and transported to a nearby hospital.

She also explained that the local police are still investigating what took place regarding preceding events leading up to the incident.
