Late last night a man in his 30’s died after he was hit by a car on the N12 near Southgate, Johannesburg.

ER24 Spokesperson Russel Meiring said paramedics arrived on scene and found that the man had died already.

Meiring said the driver of the vehicle did sustain any injuries and he did not see the man when running across the Highway.

Meanwhile in another incident a man died in a freak elevator accident in Durban CBD.

ER24 Spokesperson Russel Meiring said paramedics arrived on scene and that a large group of bystanders gathered around the goods elevator.

He added that the paramedics had to crush the doors of the elevator to free the man who was trapped in between the doors and he had died already.

The exact details of the cause of the accident will remain the subject of a police investigation.
