The Public Transport Voice is calling for the national Department of Health to scratch planned tolling for the N1 and N2 in the Western Cape.

The South African National Roads Agency Limited has proposed tolling for the highways along the winelands; however the city wants to review the plan first.

The Public Transport Voice said the project will affect the poor and vulnerable in the province.

The organisation’s Zingisani Nkanjeni said we calling on government to why no action has been taken with regards to SANRAL continuing with implementing the e-toll system.

“Most of the poor and vulnerable with be negatively affected by this project if government does not take action against SANRAL Nkanjeni added.
