Boy drowns in Benoni quarry

ER24 paramedic attended to a drowning incident on Sunday whereby a 13-year-old body drowned in a quarry dam in Benoni. 
ER24 Spokesperson Russel Meiring said Paramedics received an emergency call from the SAPS about a child that had apparently drown in the nearby lake.
   

Meiring said once on scene, paramedics discovered the lifeless body of the young body.

“Unfortunately there was nothing more the paramedics could do for the child and he was later declared dead Meiring added.
 
The exact details of the cause of the drowning will remain the subject of a police investigation.
